About For the Nations DC
Who We Are
The nations are here! At For the Nations DC (FTNDC), we have an unprecedented opportunity to meet practical needs and to share the hope of Jesus with our new neighbors in the Washington D.C. area. We serves refugee and immigrant families with a distinctive combination of excellent English language programs, practical help, and bold Gospel proclamation.
- The Adult ESOL classes are offered 3 days per week in two locations and include a free Early Childhood Program for children while their parents study. Students practice their English, attend a daily Bible vocabulary lesson, and build strong friendships.
- The Kids’ Club reading program meets twice a week at a local apartment complex, providing elementary-aged children with much-needed reading support and character development, in addition to conversational English practice for their mothers.
- The Family Services program helps students after class with needs such as resume writing, accessing healthcare, connecting with community resources, and more.
Our Mission
We offer hope and help to our immigrant neighbors by teaching English, providing practical assistance, and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ.
Our Impact
By God’s grace, we have served more than 1,200 refugees and immigrants since 2018.
